Description

A dynamic Agri-business based in the Mpumalanga Lowveld specializes in the production, packing and marketing of a variety of subtropical fruits. They are now recruiting a Packhouse Manager for their operations in Mpumalanga.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Packhouse Duties
  • Monitoring of daily start up procedure
  • Receiving of raw material from bulk packhouse and external growers
  • Ripening of fruit as per order requirement
  • Management of pack line i.r.t: sorting process and quality assessment, staff training, packing procedure as per order, packaging specifications as per order, maximizing productivity, communicating with growers and suppliers when necessary, dispatching of orders.
  • Ensuring all product is packed according to Clients specifications.
  1. Labour Force Responsibilities
    • Managing of the labour force
    • Assists in monthly works council meetings
    • All disciplinary procedures
    • Ensuring that Labour Productivity is maintained at optimum levels
  2. Maintenance Duties
  • Grounds adjacent to the packhouse
  • Building and Machinery pertaining to the prepack and other fruit lines
  • Vehicles and Forklift
  • Logistical Management
  • Arrange daily transport for all Prepack and fruit products
  • Ensure Service Providers give best service at competitive rates
  • Optimize vehicle capacity by attempting to fill all dispatches
  1. Cash Sales Duties
  • Manage and administer Cash Sales
  • Ensure the facility has optimum products available
  • Ensure customer satisfaction
  1. Administrative Functions:
  • Liaison with admin staff re reports
  • Receiving of retail orders
  • Month End Labour transport
  • Grower reports
  • Packhouse reports
  • Stock volume and waste control, ordering and invoice authorization
  • HR Correspondence
  • Time register and overtime register
  • Packaging requirements planning including stock sheet maintenance
  • Budgetary setting and maintenance including Management report monitoring
