Description

A fast-growing company specialising in sustainable and organic-aligned fertilisers and crop solutions is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative. They have a flagship product which is registered under Act 36 of 1947 and trusted by farmers for its proven results across a variety of crops. They are expanding their sales team to strengthen their footprint in Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Mozambique, and Swaziland.

Role Purpose

The Sales Representative will be responsible for driving direct sales, farmer engagement, and distributor support in designated regions. The role requires strong technical knowledge, agricultural expertise, and an established network within the farming community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell the company's products to farmers, co-operatives, and agri-businesses.
  • Manage existing accounts and develop new clients in target regions.
  • Provide technical support and product advice to farmers (fertilisation programmes, application methods, crop suitability).
  • Organise and participate in farmer days, demo trials, and promotional events.
  • Report on sales activities, customer needs, and market trends to management.
  • Work closely with distributors, wholesalers, and referral partners to expand product reach.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, or related field (mandatory).
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in agricultural input sales (fertilizers, crop protection, or related agri-products).
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets in the agricultural sector.
  • Established network of contacts within the farming community (commercial and development farmers, co-ops, and agri-suppliers).
  • Strong technical knowledge of fertiliser use, soil management, and crop production.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle (mandatory).
