Quality Assurance Technologist Berries

A dynamic berry farm, based to the east of Pretoria, specialises in berries. They are innovative and apply the most recent technology and science. They are now hiring a Quality Assurance Technologist.

Role & Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining, reviewing and documenting the organisation's Quality & Food Safety Management System.
• Analysis and data capture of production records to maintain traceability.
• Documentation control and review.
• Customer complaint investigation handling and report writing.
• Non-conformance and corrective action management.
• Support Technical Manager with audits and inspections.
• HACCP, GMP and Hygiene standards compliance monitoring.
• Coaching and training of line-level staff.
• Supervise quality controllers to ensure consistent and accurate product monitoring.

Skills & Attributes

• Diploma/ Degree in Food Technology/ Food Science.
• Strong understanding of food safety, quality and microbiology.
• 2 – 4 years' experience in the food/fresh produce/FMCG industry is essential.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Knowledge of food safety systems and experience with HACCP implementation is essential.
• Document writing experience preferred.
• Dynamic and detail-oriented.
• Ability to make quick, confident decisions and act promptly.
• Good communication skills – verbal and written.
• Honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
• Practical problem solver – systematic and logical thinking.
• Internal auditing training is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently.
