A FPEF member is looking for a graduate placement as Logistics Coordinator, to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will support the coordination of produce shipments to international markets, working closely with the commercial team, freight forwarders, packhouses, and cold stores. The role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage time-sensitive processes accurately. This position reports to the Logistics Manager and provides excellent exposure to international trade, compliance requirements, and supply chain coordination within the fresh produce export environment.
Key Responsibilities
Booking & Loading Coordination
- Coordinate export bookings and maintain accurate records on the ERP system
- Communicate loading instructions to packhouses, cold stores, and freight forwarders
- Track container movements and ensure shipments meet agreed timelines
- Assist with inspections, fumigation arrangements, and special market requirements
- Monitor loading progress and escalate delays or issues where necessary
Compliance & Inspections
- Arrange inspections required for specific export markets
- Support compliance with export and quality control requirements
- Assist with documentation and reporting related to shipments
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain updated billing and logistics records
- Prepare and issue billing instructions and reports
- Report open items and daily logistics updates to the team
Relationship Management & Team Support
- Build and maintain professional working relationships with logistics partners
- Support the logistics team with ad hoc transport and shipment coordination
- Participate in rotational standby duties where required
Minimum Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Computer literacy, particularly MS Excel and MS Word
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- SA Citizen
- Students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds will enjoy preference
- Under 30 years of age
