General Manager Subtropical Fruit Mozambique

A dynamic Agri-business based in the Mpumalanga Lowveld specializes in the production, packing and marketing of a variety of subtropical fruits. They are now recruiting a General Manager for their operations in Mozambique.

Responsibilities include assisting the management of all the processes during establishment and maintenance of orchards, including growing, plant nutrition, pest & disease management, harvesting, post-harvest handling, staff management, budget management, i.e. drawing up of budgets, control of expenses.

Requirements:

• Matric, and an applicable tertiary qualification will be an advantage.
• Preferably 10 years’ managerial experience with subtropical fruit farming or related crops.
• Must have the ability to manage a labour force, and have good interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills: Advanced skills with Excel spreadsheets, calculations, etc.
• Application of good agricultural and production standards.
• Knowledge of Irrigation is essential.
• General knowledge in basic soil chemistry and fertiliser application.
• Willing to farm in an isolated area in Mozambique.

Remuneration package highly negotiable.
