The industry organisation, Fresh Produce Exporters Forum, runs a number of initiatives to bring about transformation in the fresh fruit export industry. The FPEF Graduate Placement Program places high calibre graduates in junior commercial, logistics and technical (post-harvest quality management) roles at various South African fruit export companies for one year, potentially leading to long term career opportunities. The aim of this programme is to integrate a growing group of talented young individuals into the commercial and operational heart of the industry.

A global refrigerated cargo and logistics service provider operating within the fresh produce export and international shipping industry is offering a structured internship opportunity to graduates seeking practical exposure in refrigerated cargo logistics, commercial sales support and supply chain operations.
The successful candidate will gain hands-on exposure to customer relationship management, shipping operations, cold chain logistics, forecasting, business development and international trade processes within the fresh produce export environment.
Intern Responsibilities:
- Support the Reefer Sales team with day-to-day sales, customer service and administrative activities.
- Assist with customer communication, quotations, proposals and presentations.
- Maintain and update customer information within CRM systems.
- Assist in tracking sales opportunities, customer enquiries and forecasts.
- Conduct market research and assist with lead generation and business development activities.
- Support refrigerated cargo coordination and cold chain logistics operations.
- Coordinate communication between customers and operational teams.
- Assist with sales reporting, documentation and commercial analysis.
- Participate in customer meetings and relationship-building initiatives.
- Assist in monitoring booking performance, vessel allocations and shipment requirements.
Application Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management / Marketing / Business / Agriculture / Management / International Trade / Maritime Studies or a related field.

- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- High degree of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
