AgriCAREERConnect 2025:
Bridging the Gap Between Graduates and the Agricultural Industry
As South Africa celebrates its youth, while contemplating the burning issue of youth unemployment, AgriCAREERConnect (ACC) 2025 tackles a another pressing matter: the mismatch between a growing pool of agriculture graduates and a shortage of specialised skills in the agri-food sector.
ACC has become a vital platform where students and graduates connect with industry leaders, explore career opportunities across the agricultural value chain, and gain insights into what employers seek at entry level and beyond.

Following a successful event at the University of Johannesburg in May, upcoming highlights include:
24 July – Animal Science Industry Meetup at Stellenbosch University, featuring a careers panel and potjiekos competition
31 July – ACC Panel Talks and mini-expo and networking at Stellenbosch University
12 August – ACC Panel Talks and mini-expo and networking at the University of Pretoria

Over 400 students from diverse fields—agronomy, horticulture, food science, animal science, engineering, and more—are expected to attend. All students with a passion for agriculture and food are welcome, provided that they are registered students at the hosting universities.
Confirmed industry participants include Rijk Zwaan SA, Freshmark (Shoprite/Checkers), Koppert SA, Nile, Fresh Produce Exporters’ Forum, Citrus Academy, FruitSA, RussellStone Group, Blueberry Hill Farms, Unlimited Group, AGT foods, Simply Garlic, ExperiCo and Tunnel Tomatoes —companies committed to building future talent pipelines.
Space is limited. Companies interested in participating should contact the organisers soon.
