Agricultural industry’s opportunity to meet fresh minds

It is time for companies to appoint young people – AgriCAREERConnect is the space to find them!

At Agrijob, we receive almost daily recruitment requests from input suppliers and commercial farming operations to find qualified graduates with a few years of experience.  This instruction is complicated even more when companies further specify that ‘he must speak Afrikaans’.  This has led to a default strategy of head-hunting of candidates, often to the detriment of the candidate’s career and the sustainability of such recruitment strategy for the company in the long run.  A solution is to appoint fresh legs and minds, and grow your own timber – AgriCAREERConnect provides exactly this opportunity.

AgriCAREERConnect (ACC) is a unique virtual gathering space, taking place this year on 16-18 August, where the industry showcases the exhilarating world of agriculture and food, and interact with students and graduates from 7 universities with agricultural faculties: Universities of Pretoria, Stellenbosch, Free State, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga. In addition to enticing students and graduates to join our industry, this process enables companies to contact graduates or final year students directly for possible entry level or internship positions. ACC is organised in partnership with AgriConnect and AgriVoice, and the organisers of Nampo Alfa.

More than 60 companies and industry organisations participated in ACC 2021, including input suppliers, agribusinesses and commercial farming operations, and more than 2000 students and graduates participated in the break-away sessions hosted at the universities. The target group is pre- and post-graduate students in agriculture and food, and integrated disciplines such as commerce, industrial engineering and information technology.
