This graduate role offers a unique entry point into the intersection of engineering and agriculture, with a clear growth path into AutoCAD drafting and project design.
Role Overview
Start in quotation and estimation, compiling costed proposals and building bills of materials (BOMs) for tunnel projects. As you gain product knowledge, you'll transition into AutoCAD drafting, supporting layout design and visualisation.
Responsibilities
Initial (3–6 months):
- Compile quotations using Excel and internal pricing tools
- Build BOMs and part kits for tunnel designs
- Collaborate with Sales/Operations to gather inputs
- Prepare proposal packs and maintain quoting data
- Use Excel (lookups, pivots) and Monday.com for collaboration
Growth (6–12 months):
- Create basic AutoCAD layouts and update drawings
- Assist with Google Earth overlays and visualisations
- Support drawing template maintenance and version control
Ideal Candidate
- Diploma/BTech/BEng in Draughting, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial or Agricultural Engineering
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Exposure to AutoCAD (coursework or portfolio)
- Curious, numerically accurate, and practical problem-solver
- SA work authorisation; driver’s licence is a plus
Hybrid Work Setup
- Office: 2 days/week in Grabouw for collaboration
- Remote: 3 days/week from home
- Requirements:
- Stable internet (≥20 Mbps)
- Power continuity (UPS/inverter)
- Quiet, ergonomic workspace
Provided: Company laptop, licensed software (Microsoft 365, Monday.com, AutoCAD), and occasional site visits.
