Description

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Farm Supervisor for its Broiler operations in the Agriculture division. The Farm Supervisor will assist in achieving the company’s targeted Broiler performance KPI’s. This position reports to Farm Manager and holds the TASK Grade T06.

The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Grade 12 certificate and a tertiary qualification in a field related to intensive agriculture or poultry production, with 1 year’s supervisory experience.

Results Required:

  • Contribute to the achievement of Broiler KPI’s on the facility (Mortality, Weight, FCR, PEF, Costs)
  • Provide perfect growing conditions through optimised settings on climate controllers and heating systems.
  • Ensure that operational SOP’s are strictly adhered to and report non-conformance.
  • Timeous and accurate completion of reports, utilities and production systems.
  • Enforce strict Biological Risk compliance.
  • Achieve SHEQ audit compliance of 98% and contribute to the facilities NOSA accreditation.
  • Ensure that infrastructure is maintained through timeous corrective and preventative maintenance.
  • Develop a strong sense of teamwork, with emphasis on skills and talent development.
  • Risk mitigation through alarm response, setting verification and alarm reduction.
