The following positions are currently available at Sernick Animal Feeds.

Sernick Animal Feeds Marketers: Multiple Locations

The positions are not office based, and applicants need not reside in a designated region. Travel to Clients will be a big part of the day-to-day operational activities of these positions.

These positions report directly to the Managing Director of the Sernick Animal Feed Factory.

WHO WE ARE:

 Founded in 1982, the Sernick Group is the home of agricultural excellence.  The Sernick Group is a is a diversified organization with its focus on agriculture and agricultural processing activities. This includes a Bonsmara stud, crop production, animal feed production, feedlots, red meat production (Sernick Abattoir t/a Sernick Beef, de-boning and processing) as well as a retail outlet. The group employs more than 500 people. The diverse nature of the group consists of 6 Operating Units.

Sernick Animal Feeds is a subsidiary of the Sernick Group value chain, founded by Sernick Group Chairman Nick Serfontein in 1997. Sernick Animal Feeds produce an outstanding range of 130 different mixes, including dairy and cattle feeds, licks, feed for pigs, sheep, broilers and hatchers in the poultry industry, as well as pellets for game farms.

At Sernick Animal Feeds, we are a proud, motivated, and service-driven team whose sole aim is to provide the best animal feed to our customers and satisfy the needs of their animals.

Sernick Animal Feeds has a strong brand and client base specifically in the Free State and adjacent provinces, but it is on an exploration path to expand nationally.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a results-driven and self-motivated Animal Feed Salesperson with a strong understanding of the agricultural and livestock sector. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building long-term customer relationships, the ability to identify customer needs and provide effective feed solutions, and a proven track record in achieving sales targets. Strong communication skills, technical product knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a field-based role are essential.

ROLE PURPOSE.

 To promote the sales of the range of Sernick Animal Feeds products, and to provide technical and product support as required by Sernick Animal Feeds, customers and prospective customers. Achieve sales budgets and objectives for the region responsible for and to increase the sales footprint in  the region as improving the viability of farms and farmers.

 REQUIREMENTS

  • A qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field (e.g., B.Com/B.Sc).
  • SACNASP registration as an animal nutritionist. If not yet registered be able to register.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the sales and marketing of animal feed products.
  • Good computer literacy in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
  • Own reliable vehicle with a valid drivers’ licence.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive professional relationships and work standards.
  • Target driven with excellent selling, negotiation, and communication skills in both English and Afrikaans.
  • Prioritising, time management, and organisational skills as well as the ability to work remotely and mostly on his/her own in a fast-paced pressurised environment.
  • Clear criminal record.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary function of this position will be:

  • Development and implement a marketing/sales strategy for the designated region.
  • Product development input when required
  • Technical advice and support to clients and prospective clients
  • Manage overall customer satisfaction
  • Meet sales targets as agreed with the Managing Director and provide detailed feedback on actual sales and forecasts.
  • Budgeting and costing
  • Direct client liaison and support
  • Proactive research into sales opportunities
  • Aggressively targeting of identified sales opportunities
  • The scope of the function however is not limited to a specific role and can be adapted to meet operational requirements whereby you will cross-functionally support others within the Group.

Salary and benefits are negotiable, and market related.
