The Fresh Produce Exporters Forum (FPEF) is the industry body representing South Africa’s fresh produce exporters. Through its Graduate Placement Programme, FPEF places high-calibre graduates in junior commercial, logistics and technical roles at leading fruit export companies for one year, with the potential for long-term career opportunities. An FPEF member company is offering an internship opportunity for a Data Analyst to support its systems. The organisation plays a key role in enabling digital transformation and data integration across the fruit export value chain, offering centralised platforms for industry-wide collaboration and reporting. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining data integrity, reporting accuracy, and validating export-related data across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate and reconcile data from multiple systems
- Generate and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
- Support ETL workflows and troubleshoot data discrepancies
- Maintain master files and mapping processes
- Compile and validate weekly statistical reports for industry stakeholders
- Manage Excel-based data imports and standardise ingestion formats
- Approve and manage user registrations on the platform
- Document data processes and workflows clearly
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Science, or related field
- Experience with SQL, Power BI/Tableau, and Excel
- Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., Matillion, Alteryx) and data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake)
- Exposure to data governance or regulatory compliance is advantageous
- Understanding of agricultural or export-related data is beneficial
- Normal working hours, with willingness to work occasional hours over weekends and/or holidays

- Creative, out-of-the-box thinking
- Attention to detail and a data verification mindset
- Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences
- Fluent in English; Afrikaans advantageous
- Trustworthy with sensitive and confidential data
- Able to work independently and within cross-functional teams
Eligibility:
- South African (BEE) citizen under the age of 30
- Driver’s licence, with own transport, is preferred
