A leading fresh produce exporter committed to innovation and operational excellence has a graduate internship role available as Junior Production Coordinator. This internship offers hands-on experience in managing packing, processing, and quality control operations to ensure fruit meets export standards and customer requirements.
Purpose of the role:
To support day-to-day production management, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with shipment schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and coordinating daily fruit packing and processing schedules
- Supervise and support production line staff to ensure efficiency and product quality
- Monitor cold chain processes and maintain hygiene, safety, and compliance standards
- Collaborate with Quality Control and Logistics teams to align production with shipment schedules
- Identify and suggest opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce costs
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Food Technology, Production Management, or related field
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to fast-paced seasonal operations
- SA Citizen
- Students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds will enjoy preference
- Under 30 years of age
Career Path:
After completing the 12-month contract, you’ll have a comprehensive understanding of production systems and export quality standards. Successful performance may lead to a permanent Production Manager role, with a long-term pathway to Senior Production Manager within 2–5 years.
