A leading fresh produce exporter committed to innovation and operational excellence has a graduate internship role available as Junior Quality Coordinator. This internship offers hands-on experience in quality control and assurance processes for fruit exports, ensuring compliance with international standards and customer satisfaction.
Purpose of the role:
To support quality management processes across farms, packing facilities, and shipping operations, ensuring all exported fruit meets international quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing and maintaining quality control procedures
- Conduct inspections of fruit quality, packaging, and handling processes
- Support documentation and compliance with food safety standards
- Monitor cold chain and storage conditions
- Help investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with senior quality manager to improve quality processes
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agriculture, Food Technology, Horticulture, or related field
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced export environment
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of food safety standards and export compliance
- SA Citizen
- Students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds will enjoy preference
- Under 30 years of age
Career Path:
After completing the 12-month contract, you’ll have a solid foundation in quality systems and compliance protocols. Successful performance may lead to a permanent Quality Manager role, with a long-term pathway to Senior Quality Manager within 2–5 years.
