It offers high-potential South African graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in logistics, commercial, and technical (post-harvest quality management) roles at leading fruit export companies. The following FPEF member; a highly successful and fully integrated family-run fruit production operation with a long and rich history in South Africa’s agricultural sector, is seeking a Logistic Operations Intern to join their dynamic team in Tzaneen. The business is part of a larger group and is known for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation across the value chain.
Key Learning Areas and Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing fruit packing lines, and operational systems to ensure optimal throughput and minimal waste.
- Support the implementation of food safety protocols and quality assurance standards.
- Learn to plan staffing schedules and support recruitment, training, and performance tracking.
- Participate in packaging planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Gain exposure to logistics coordination and administrative systems such as PALTRACK and labour productivity tracking.
- Coordinate inspections with PPECB.
- Arrange and coordinate truck availability and loadings.
- Monitor pack-out percentages and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Strong interest in agricultural production and post-harvest processes.
- Good mechanical aptitude and administrative skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to seasonal demands.
- Strong leadership potential, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Logistics, Production Management, or a related field.
- Previous exposure to packhouse or farming operations (e.g., vacation work or part-time roles) will be beneficial.

Remuneration:
