The Fresh Produce Exporters’ Forum (FPEF) Graduate Placement Programme is a proudly South African initiative aimed at driving transformation in the fresh fruit export industry. It offers high-potential South African graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in logistics, commercial, and technical (post-harvest quality management) roles at leading fruit export companies. This one-year internship is designed to equip graduates with practical skills, industry exposure, and professional development in a real-world business environment, with the potential to grow into long-term career opportunities. The programme plays a vital role in integrating talented young individuals into the commercial and operational heart of the industry.

A well-established fruit marketing company, based in Somerset West, is offering a graduate internship in Quality Administration. The company works with South Africa’s leading deciduous fruit growers and exports apples and pears to over 100 countries. Its operations are rooted in scientific and technical excellence, with a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and global compliance.

Key Learning Areas and Responsibilities:

  • Support the quality and compliance team with administrative tasks.
  • Assist in managing regulatory documentation and processing certificates (e.g., MRL analyses, phytosanitary certificates).
  • Coordinate with international clients on compliance requirements.
  • Help maintain quality control documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Agriculture, Horticulture or a related field.
  • Previous exposure to quality or compliance environments (e.g., vacation work or part-time roles) will be beneficial.

Remuneration:
