Quality Control Inspector Cape Town

A dynamic corporate company in the fresh produce industry, specialising in fruit and vegetables for export and local retail markets, has a Quality Control Inspector role available, at the Cape Town International Airport.

Purpose of the Job: To inspect and report on all aspects pertaining to quality of fresh vegetables and fruit destined for export and complete the relevant checks as required to maintain the Food Safety and Quality Assurance System.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain Quality Standards.
• Quality Control functions including intake QC’s, shelf life analysis, and where applicable positive release QC’s.
• Ensuring correct labelling, traceability.
• Ensuring correct stock rotation in conjunction with shelf life potential of product.
• Communication of quality matters to growers and internal teams.
• Day to day recording of temperatures, QC checks, calibrations and verifications, reworking and other day to day processes and activities and documents as required.
• Assist with order picking and order loading functions.
• Administrative support functions.

Equipment or Materials used: Computer, tablet, scales, thermometer, calibrations of applicable equipment, camera – photographs of product/packaging.
