Description

A well‑established flower production company is seeking a strategic, detail‑oriented, and self‑motivated professional to lead the cultivation of premium cut‑flowers across open fields, shade nets, and greenhouse environments. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role carries full responsibility for production excellence, staff leadership, and continuous innovation in flower growing practices.

Purpose of the Role

To consistently deliver exceptional quality flowers by applying advanced agronomic expertise, optimizing production systems, and fostering a culture of precision, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Crop Management: Plan, oversee, and refine all planting, fertilizing, irrigation, harvesting, and maintenance activities.
  • Plant Health & Quality: Monitor crop performance, diagnose issues, and implement corrective measures to ensure optimal growth and flower quality.
  • Protocols & Standards: Enforce hygiene, watering, scouting, and integrated pest management protocols in line with international safety and sustainability standards.
  • Team Leadership: Coordinate staff schedules, train and mentor team members, and drive accountability to meet production deadlines and quality benchmarks.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Maintain accurate production records and performance reports.
    • Develop and execute maintenance plans for equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations.
    • Adjust strategies per crop and per section based on growth stage and environmental conditions.
    • Determine and implement the most effective cropping systems daily.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to international safety, labour, and environmental standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong background as a Grower or relevant tertiary qualification (Agriculture/Horticulture diploma or degree).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in flower production or high‑value horticultural crops.
  • Proven expertise in Plant Nutrition, Soil Science, and Fertigation.
  • Practical experience with spraying equipment and crop protection protocols.
  • Energetic, proactive, and solutions‑driven individual with excellent labour relations skills.
  • Exceptional planning, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, computer proficiency, and report‑writing skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
