Description
Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Senior Farm Manager for its Broiler operations in the Agriculture division. The Senior Farm Manager is responsible for achieving the company’s targeted Broiler KPIs through precision farming techniques. This position reports to the Area Manager and holds the TASK Grade T12.
The ideal candidate must be in possession of a tertiary qualification in agricultural management, animal production or related field, with two years’ experience in managing a large-scale broiler farm. Experience in managing multiple sites will be advantageous.
Results Required
- Contribute to the achievement of the defined Broiler KPI’s on the facility.
- Limiting and reducing all forms of wastage, through accurate management, measurement and application of consumables, feed and resources.
- Ensure that all Company Assets are correctly maintained and cared for, limiting abuse and unnecessary replacement and repairs, through preventative maintenance and on the job interventions.
- Lead, motivate and retain a dedicated, consistent and well-disciplined team.
- Drive the training and development of all employees to ensure a talent pipeline.
- Balance rigid adherence of SOP Manual, with the desire to find new and improved methods to improve output.
- Fanatical Biological Risk Compliance to be maintained and enforced, to ensure that we remain disease free as a business, at all levels.
- Ensure that all documents required to make informed and effective business decisions are completed timeously.
